Trump Immigration Policy -- Worksite Enforcement and Raids?

Some experts believe the immigration policies of the incoming Trump Administration are likely to feature workplace raids, imposition of mandatory E-Verify and the requirement to immediately terminate some workers who have work authorization through the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

"All indications to date are that President-elect Donald Trump will move forward with efforts to secure the border and focus on immigration worksite enforcement within his first 100 days," said Chatrane Birbal, a government relations senior advisor at the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

While candidate Trump was certainly strident in his rhetoric on immigration, the first week after the election saw him indicate he may accept a fence in certain places in lieu of a wall at the Mexican border.  While some moderation of campaign rhetoric may be possible, it's clear that Republican control of both Houses of Congress and the White House is likely to break the immigration policy reform stalemate that has prevailed for more than a decade.  The question is, do advocates of enforcement measures like E-Verify have the political strength to overcome the certain objections of powerful Washington lobbies like employers, manufacturers, and agriculture?
