FELS Webinar: Employee COVID-19 Infections: What Does Cal/OSHA Want me to Record? What do they Want me to Report?

UPDATED: Webinar Presentation Posted September 14, 2020

Cal/OSHA's guidance on recording on OSHA logs instances of employees' COVID-19 infections, and whether and when to report those infections have created much confusion.  Conn Maciel’s team of Cal/OSHA specialists Eric Conn, Andrew Sommer, and Fred Walter will explain the guidance and give you some practical tips on managing COVID-19-related reporting and recording.

Eric J. Conn is a founding partner of Conn Maciel Carey and Chair of the firm’s national OSHA Workplace Safety Practice Group. His practice focuses exclusively on issues involving occupational safety and health law. Before launching his own OSHA Practice, Mr. Conn practiced for more than a decade alongside the former first General Counsel of the OSH Review Commission.

Andrew J. Sommer is managing partner of Conn Maciel Carey LLP’s California practice.  He advises employers on a wide range of OSHA-related issues, and defends employers in administrative proceedings, arbitration and litigation.

Fred Walter is Of Counsel in Conn Maciel Carey’s San Francisco, CA office, where he provides the full range of workplace safety and health law services, with a special focus on employers’ interactions with Cal/OSHA.  Mr. Walter has spent more than 35 years working with employers, general counsel, safety directors, risk managers, human resources administrators and safety professionals defending OSHA and Cal/OSHA citations, as well as developing and auditing safety programs to answer regulatory mandates.  He also represents employers in defense of “serious and willful misconduct” claims and provides crisis management services.
