FELS Partners with HeavyConnect to Provide

COVID-19 Compliance App

May 24, 2021

Farm Employers Labor Service is pleased to announce a new partnership with HeavyConnect to provide an app-based platform with training and recordkeeping resources to aid agricultural employers’ compliance with COVID-19-related requirements.

The new FELS/HeavyConnect COVID-19 partnership builds on cloud-based compliance and documentation capabilities that HeavyConnect has provided clients for years around food safety as well as worker training and timekeeping.

“FELS is proud to add this to our suite of products and services to help California agricultural employers comply with complex COVID-19 requirements imposed by Cal/OSHA, local health agencies and others, and to help them implement best practices to protect their employees,” said Bryan Little, FELS chief operating officer.

“The ability to share information about who and what needs to be trained, who has been trained, who’s doing the basic COVID-19 safety practices, and what needs to be done to comply with those requirements in real time will be valuable to FELS customers and clients,” noted Little.

“HeavyConnect has been a leader in cloud-based compliance documentation for growers, packers, and shippers since 2015, and over the past year we’ve been able to bring this concept to another very important area of safety: worker safety,” said Patrick Zelaya, HeavyConnect chief executive officer. “We’re excited to be working with FELS to help food producers as they make sure their employees go home to their families safe and healthy.

“The people who produce our food are a key part of the food production system, and I’m proud HeavyConnect can support employers as they protect them,” Zelaya added.

The FELS/HeavyConnect COVID-19 app will be available to all FELS Newsletter subscribers as a free subscription upgrade. HeavyConnect will provide orientation and training services for new adopters of the program and limited ongoing support for users.
