FELS is pleased to announce the addition of John A. Swarbrick Law to the slate of professionals FELS members may access through FELS’ Group Legal Services Plan. Mr. Swarbrick has represented public and private sector organizations in labor relations and employment matters for over 25 years. He now practices as a professional neutral, specializing in workplace investigations involving allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, or other breaches of employer policy.

FELS has sought Mr. Swarbrick’s services in response to recent changes in California law requiring investigations into the character, conduct, associations, business dealings and similar inquiries, even those conducted in an employment context to be conducted by either a state-licensed private investigator or an attorney.

Drawing on extensive experience of employee misconduct and investigation processes, John A. Swarbrick Law will review all relevant documentation, conduct interviews, and provide a thorough and impartial investigation report that meets the employer’s duty to conduct a prompt and adequate investigation that recognizes and respects the rights of all parties to the investigation.

Originally from the United Kingdom, he is an admitted attorney in California, as well as a barrister of Gray’s Inn and a Solicitor Advocate in England and Wales. He has an LL.M in Dispute Resolution from the Strauss Institute for Dispute Resolution at the Pepperdine University School of Law and a second LL.M in International Business Law from the University of Manchester. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and teaches within CSU Dominguez Hill’s nationally ranked program in Negotiation, Conflict Resolution, and Peacebuilding, where he also serves on the Board of Advisors.
