City of San Diego Minimum Wage Increase

Bryan Little, Farm Employers Labor Service

Effective January 1, the City of San Diego increased its local minimum wage to $17.75 for work performed within the City’s incorporated boundaries. You can refer to the City of San Diego’s official Geographic Information Systems boundary map to determine the exact areas subject to the higher city minimum wage.

Employers with employees working in San Diego County will instead be subject to the state minimum wage of $16.90 per hour, unless a different local ordinance applies.

Please consult local ordinances to determine the exact parameters of coverage for employees working in various jurisdictions, as local laws frequently vary.
