U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) issued a new edition of the Form I-9 on April 3. The new version features minor changes to the prior form:

Adding appropriate statutory language and a revised Department of Homeland Security Privacy Notice to the Instructions.

Renaming the fourth checkbox in Section 1 to “An alien authorized to work;”

Revision description of two List B documents in the Lists of Acceptable Documents

The revised form with an edition date of 01/20/25 and an expiration date of 05/31/27 is available now for download.

Prior versions of the Form I-9 are still valid until their respective expiration dates:

The 8/1/23 edition is valid until 5/31/27;

And a prior edition dated 8/1/23 is valid until 7/31/26.

Edition and validity end dates appear on the form versions.
