UC Ag & Natural Resources Sharing Measles Prevention Information

Recent outbreaks of measles in the western U.S. has prompted the University of California, Berkeley Department of Agricultural and Natural Resources to reach out to various California ag-facing organizations to share resources intended to prevent further outbreaks.

UC ANR has been asked by Extension Foundation and CDC to engage in a rapid response measles outbreak prevention with a agricultural communities including farms, farm owners, and farmworkers.

CDC has developed bilingual flyers for distribution that urges farm and rural populations to increase their awareness of measles symptoms and the appropriate response to illness to mitigate any risk of outbreak, as well as to encourage measles vaccinations.
